Sue Allen Clayton Consulting is not a huge corporation with a posh suite of offices and a large staff. There’s just me — Sue Allen Clayton — plus some part-time administrative help. Writing and coaching are my favorite parts of my day and I don’t outsource it to anyone else. As a writer, I have a reputation for meeting deadlines, being easy to work with, and for quickly getting “up to speed” on a wide variety of topics. As a coach, I’m known for meeting clients where they are — and then supporting their business growth through individualized attention.

Who I Work With (as a Writer)

Professional Practices.  I work with medical specialists, dentists, veterinarians and physical therapists. I also work with lawyers and accountants. Most of my professional clients are in a group practice that understands the value of creating content that builds a relationship with their customers and assists with Search Engine Optimization.

Webmasters. My specialty is writing newsletters, blog posts and website content. I am happy to be subcontracted by webmasters to write website pages, articles or blog posts for their clients.

Small Business Owners. Many of my clients are business owners who need help with a specific writing project. Most of my current projects are marketing-related, as clients have purchased services such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Infusionsoft and Ontraport — but can’t come up with the content they need to send to their clients. I am happy to provide a quote and to assist with these projects.

Cost of Writing Services

I am always happy to provide a written quote, but I’ll give you some ball-park numbers for content creation.

  • Newsletters: $150 to $500 (depending on length, frequency and complexity).
  • Blog posts: $50 to $150 (depending on length)
  • eBooks: $25 to $125 per page.
  • Website pages: $50 to $150  per page
  • Artist statements: $167
  • Email marketing campaigns ($500 and up)

Who I Work With (As a Coach)

My clients are female solopreneurs who want to move their business to the next level. They need an outside point of view to provide ideas, support and accountability. I have a business degree, 20 years experience as an entrepreneur, and have done a lot of personal development (including taking numerous coaching certification classes). I treat my coaching clients with compassion and am willing to provide “tough love” if it is needed.

How I Work
I prefer to work by telephone. Most of my clients are comfortable talking on the phone, because it is easy and familiar. Because there are no visual cues, it forces people to articulate their  responses. This makes the writing process much more efficient. Talking on the phone also helps me to hear a client’s “voice” and to write in style that is consistent with their brand.

How Much It Costs

Coaching is $497 per month and includes:

  • Two 50-minute phone calls per month.
  • A written summary following each call that includes major discussion points and homework.
  • Unlimited email access to me. (I always respond within 24 hours)
  • Assistance crafting emails, marketing materials and other business writing

Who I Work With (As a Speaker)

I work with primarily with small businesses who want to make more money online by being more visible to their customers and prospects. I teach these business owners how to write for their website, as well as how to write newsletters and blogs.

Most recently I’ve been conducting seminars for businesses who are investing in an email service provider — such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, Infusionsoft or Ontraport — but have no idea what type of emails to send to their customers. As a result, they are missing a big opportunity to connect with their customers and to sell more.
